I am Professor of Applied Microeconomics at the University of Bonn and a Faculty Member of the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets and Public Policy.

Specializing in economics and behavioral science, I conduct research on human behavior, evaluate public policy, and explore public attitudes towards evidence-based policies. A focus of my research lies in understanding how beliefs and societal expectations shape behavior and influence support for public policies. Building on these insights, I aim to identify policies that enhance social mobility, advance gender equality, or promote climate action. I conduct field experiments and large-scale, cross-country surveys, assessing which policy solutions are effective and politically feasible.

I obtained my PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge. Before joining the University of Bonn, I was Assistant Professor at the University of Zurich and Associate Professor at the University of Oxford.

I serve on the Editorial Board of The Review of Economic Studies. I was awarded an ERC Starting Grant to study gender inequality in labor markets.
